# Update document visibility

> Hides a document from all its viewers (hidden: true) or shows it to them again keeping the rest of their permissions (hidden: false) — the same effect as the Hide / Show options in the app. Idempotent: setting the visibility the document already has changes nothing. The body currently accepts only the hidden field; any other field sent is ignored. hidden must be a JSON boolean: the string "true", a number or a missing / null value are rejected with 422 (the string convention 'true' applies only to the multipart upload endpoint).
